When Grigori Galitsin teamed up with Petter Hegre to launch Galitsin Archives - the first website dedicated to his work - more than a few eyebrows were raised. Galitsin's Nudes may have been beautiful, and the photography superb, but somehow the partnership seemed like an unlikely one.

To expect the craggy old Russian Master, with his obvious genius and dedication to his art, to work happily with Petter Hegre, the ambitious young pretender and founder of the New Nude Network, was probably asking too much.

Galitsin knows his art. He's a perfectionist and, like any genius, is not open to compromise. In hindsight, his partnership with Hegre was doomed to fail; and fail it did, with much unsavoury mud-slinging to boot. With Galitsin gone, the site was taken over by Hegre and re-named Angel Archives.

But as one door closed on Galitsin Archives, another opened with the launch of Galitsin's splendid new site - curiously titled Galitsin News.

You get the feeling this is what Galitsin had in mind all along. The models he chooses are unmistakably beautiful; and with the full artistic control he deserves, Galitsin has produced a site which is fast becoming a favourite among soft-erotica afficionados. You must sample the delights of Galitsin's News to compare and contrast with the more brash style of 'modern' photographers like Hegre.
